October to April is the most comfortable period, with mild days for walking in the old quarters. Summer afternoons are very hot, so start early.
Two to three days cover Islamic Cairo, Coptic Cairo, Khan El Khalili and the Citadel, plus the Giza pyramids as a separate day trip. Add a day if you want to explore museums slowly.
Cairo International Airport is served by connecting flights from Delhi and Mumbai via the Gulf, and some itineraries use direct flights where available. Transfers into the city take roughly an hour depending on traffic.
