Kericho tour packages start in this tidy highland town surrounded by Kenya’s most productive tea country. The cool, rainy climate and fertile soils suit the crop, and visitors can tour plantations and factories to see how fresh leaves become black tea. The town has a central market, shops and restaurants, and is about 2,000 metres above sea level. It lies on the road from Nakuru to Kisumu, so it is a natural stopover.
