Ol Kalou tour packages use the county’s main town as a base for exploring the surrounding highlands. The town has a busy market for potatoes, cabbages and dairy products, simple hotels and restaurants, and is close to Lake Ol Bolossat and the Aberdare foothills. Its altitude of about 2,300 metres makes the weather cool all year. Nearby Thomson’s Falls and Nyahururu are an hour away.
