Kalokol tour packages start at a fishing village on the western shore of Lake Turkana, the main departure point for boats to Central Island. The village has a fish-processing plant, a market and simple lodges. Fishermen use traditional boats and nets to catch Nile perch and tilapia. Visitors can watch the daily catch come in, buy beadwork, and learn about Turkana life. It lies about 60 kilometres from Lodwar.
