Kesses Dam tour packages offer a calm escape just outside Eldoret, in rolling wheat country. The reservoir attracts herons, kingfishers, ducks and fish eagles, and the shoreline has picnic spots, short walks and quiet fishing. Weekends bring local families, while weekday visits are very peaceful. It is a short drive from the city centre and a good place to see the high plateau scenery.
