The Pokot people are semi-pastoralists known for their elaborate beadwork and traditional dress, and cultural visits are the main attraction.Kapenguria has historical importance as the site of the 1950s trial of Kenya’s independence leaders, the Kapenguria Six. Marich Pass is a scenic route that links the Cherangani Hills to the northern lowlands. Facilities are simple but the welcome is warm.
