Mtwara Region tour packages explore Tanzania’s far south-east corner, a quiet coast with historic ports and beaches. June to October is dry, cooler and best for the beaches. The rains from March to May can disrupt boat trips.

Mtwara has an airport with flights from Dar es Salaam, about 1.5 hours. The Mozambique border is nearby via the Unity Bridge.
