Zaghouan Governorate tour packages explore a small governorate south of Tunis, centred on the mountain town of Zaghouan. Its Temple of Waters marks the spring that fed Roman Carthage through a 130 km aqueduct, parts of which still stand in the countryside. Jebel Zaghouan rises above the old town, with trails and caves, while the old hilltop village of Zriba offers a charming stop. Quiet and green, the area makes a good day trip from Tunis or Hammamet, best between March and June.

March to June and September to November are pleasant. Summers are hot, and winters can be wet.
A half day to one day is plenty for the Temple of Waters, the aqueduct and the old town.
Zaghouan is about 55 km south of Tunis, roughly one hour by road, and also close to Hammamet.
