Minaret of Jam tour packages revolve around a 65-metre-tall brick tower built around 1190 by the Ghurid sultan Ghiyath al-Din. Covered in intricate geometric patterns and turquoise Kufic and Quranic inscriptions, the minaret rises at the meeting of two rivers, surrounded by steep cliffs. It was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002 and is one of the highest brick minarets in the world. Reaching it takes days of rough travel.
