Nimruz tourism describes the remote south-western corner of Afghanistan, a vast desert plain at the edge of the Sistan basin and the Iranian border. Zaranj, the provincial capital, is a flat, windswept town, and the Hamun wetlands nearby give relief with reeds and migratory birds. The Zaranj–Delaram highway, built by India in the 2000s, is a notable piece of Indian engineering and links the province with the national ring road. Summers are brutally hot and famously windy, so winter is the practical season. Travel advisories from India and most other governments currently recommend against visiting Nimruz.

India built the Zaranj–Delaram highway here, creating a link between Afghanistan and Iran's Chabahar port.
Nimruz is a long road journey from Herat or Kandahar. Official advisories currently discourage travel, so check them first.
