Bazarak is the capital of Panjshir, lying in the heart of the valley along the Panjshir River. Among the places to visit in Bazarak are the riverside bazaar, the apricot and mulberry orchards, and viewpoints over the high ridges that wall in the valley. The town is small, with tea houses and shops selling local honey and stones. Its mountain setting is among the most striking in Afghanistan.
