Uruzgan tourism offers a glimpse of the central-southern highlands, where river valleys cut through barren mountains. The capital Tarinkot lies in a wide valley with orchards and fields of wheat, and the province has strong Pashtun traditions of hospitality and storytelling. Deh Rawood is the second-largest town. Facilities for visitors are almost non-existent, and journeys are long and slow. Spring brings green fields, while summer is hot and winters cold. Please note that travel to Uruzgan is currently discouraged by most governments, including India’s, because of security risks.
