Sanqingshan is a UNESCO-listed Taoist mountain in north-east Jiangxi with pinnacles shaped like human figures and forests that often sit in mist. Walkways hug the cliffs, including the Western Coast Plank Road, and cable cars take away most of the climb. It is less crowded than Huangshan and tends to be cold even in summer. Allow one full day.
