Bomdila is a mountain town perched around 2,700 metres on the road to Tawang. Its monasteries, apple orchards and viewpoints over Himalayan ranges make it a natural overnight stop. The Upper Gompa and Lower Gompa show Tibetan Buddhist art, and a local craft centre sells handloom items. Cold winters bring snow, and spring and autumn give the best views. Most trips combine Bomdila with Dirang and Tawang.
