Allow six to seven days, and travel in the drier season from May to September.

May to September is the dry season and suits beaches and mountain roads. Toraja funerals mostly happen in July to September, though the dates vary.
Two days cover Makassar and Rammang-Rammang. Add three or four for Tana Toraja, which is an eight-hour drive.
Fly to Jakarta, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur and continue to Makassar's Sultan Hasanuddin Airport. Toraja is reached by road or a short flight to Toraja airport.
