Nain is a small desert town on the edge of the central plateau, known for fine carpets and a very old mosque. The Jameh Mosque of Nain, dating from the 10th century, is among the oldest in Iran, while the Narin Castle looms over the town and the Pirnia House shows traditional architecture.
