Kermanshah Province in western Iran is rich in ancient reliefs and Kurdish culture. At Bisotun, a UNESCO site, Darius the Great carved a giant inscription on a cliff in three languages.Taq-e Bostan shows Sasanian rock carvings in a garden setting, Kangavar has the pillars of an Anahita temple, and the green valleys of Paveh in the Hawraman region hold stepped villages. Kermanshah tour packages are best between April and October, and local specialities include roasted chickpeas and sweet pastries.
