Gali Ali Beg is a waterfall in the Soran mountains, about 100 metres high, plunging through a gorge near the Iranian border. A scenic road runs from Rawanduz through forested slopes, passing the Bekhal waterfall on the way. Visitors can picnic beside the cascade, and the spray makes the area cool in summer. Gali Ali Beg tour packages are best from April to June, when snowmelt feeds strong flows.
