Rawanduz is a mountain town in the Soran district, set at the edge of the Rawanduz Canyon, one of the deepest gorges in the Middle East. A winding road with sweeping views leads from Erbil, passing the Bekhal waterfall and the Korek Mountain cable car. Hotels, viewpoints and cafés sit along the canyon rim. Rawanduz tour packages are typically one or two days from Erbil, best from April to October.
