Hyogo tour packages feature Himeji Castle, Japan’s finest surviving castle and a UNESCO site, along with the harbour city of Kobe, home of its famed beef and sake. The prefecture stretches from the Seto Inland Sea to the Sea of Japan, offering the old spa towns of Arima Onsen and Kinosaki Onsen, and the mild island of Awaji with the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. All of this is within reach of Osaka and Kyoto, so Hyogo is a handy add-on to a Kansai itinerary. Spring and autumn are the best seasons.
