Saga tour packages cover one of Kyushu’s quietest prefectures, known for pottery, tea and hot springs. Arita is the birthplace of Japanese porcelain, with kilns that have exported fine ceramics since the seventeenth century. Karatsu is a seaside castle town with its own earthy pottery, squid dishes and a pine-fringed beach. Ureshino is a tea-growing hot spring town where water is said to make skin smooth. Saga is a short train ride from Fukuoka and a relaxing stop between Fukuoka and Nagasaki.
