The most famous of the places to visit in Tottori Sand Dunes is the Chugoku region’s great sand hill, rising up to 50 metres and stretching 16 km along the coast. Visitors can climb to a viewpoint above the sea, try sandboarding or paragliding, and take camel rides. The Sand Museum next door displays impressive indoor sand sculptures.
