The Chocolate Hills, in Carmen, Bohol, are more than 1,200 grass-covered limestone mounds that turn brown in the dry season. The main viewing deck needs a climb of about 200 steps, while the Sagbayan Peak offers a quieter alternative. A countryside tour usually adds the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary, a lunch cruise on the Loboc River and the Baclayon Church. It takes a full day by car from Panglao.
