Chachoengsao tour packages cover the quiet province east of Bangkok that hosts one of Thailand’s most-visited Buddhist shrines. Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan houses the revered Luang Pho Sothon statue and draws huge crowds of pilgrims at weekends and holidays. Along the Bang Pakong River, old wooden markets such as Khlong Suan 100-Year Market offer traditional snacks and a slice of local life. The province is flat, green and agricultural, and it is easy to combine with a visit to Suvarnabhumi Airport or Pattaya.

November to February is the most comfortable time. The big temple fair in December and early in the year is crowded but atmospheric.
A half-day is enough for the temple and the market, so it works as a stop between Bangkok and Pattaya.
Fly into Bangkok from India and travel about 1 hour east by road, since Suvarnabhumi Airport is only a short drive from the province.
