Chai Nat tour packages are for travellers who like unhurried, little-visited corners of Thailand. The province sits on the Chao Phraya River on the way to the north and is best known for its large Chai Nat Bird Park, home to more than a hundred species in open aviaries. Riverside temples, a historic Dvaravati-era heritage and a peaceful rural setting fill the remaining hours. The attractions are modest in number, so Chai Nat works best as a stopover on a longer road trip towards Nakhon Sawan, Sukhothai or Chiang Mai.

November to February offers the coolest weather for walking through the bird park. March to May is very hot, so plan morning visits.
A few hours or a half-day is enough for the bird park and the riverside, and most travellers treat it as a stop on a longer drive.
Fly into Bangkok from India and drive about 2.5 to 3 hours north. There are no direct flights, so a private car or train to Chai Nat is the easiest way.
