Skilled craftsmen are still carving its walls, pillars and ceilings with mythological figures drawn from Buddhist and Hindu traditions. Guided tours explain the symbolism, and hard hats are provided for safety. Because the building uses no nails in its main structure, it is a favourite for photographers. Allow about two hours, and visit early in the day.
