November to February is the main season, with cold mornings, mist and flowering fields. Roads are slippery in heavy rain, so July to September is less convenient.
Two days cover Khao Kho and Phu Thap Boek, while three days allow Nam Nao National Park.
Fly into Bangkok from India and drive about 5 to 6 hours north, or fly to Phitsanulok and drive about 2 hours. A private car is required for the hill roads.
