November to April is the best season, with calm seas and sunny days. May to October is the southwest monsoon, with rough waves, red-flag beaches and lower prices.

Phuket International Airport has direct flights from several Indian cities, and others connect via Bangkok. The airport is about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours from the main beaches.
