November to February is the cool, dry season and the best time for wildlife areas and river walks. The rainy months are green but muddy in the sanctuary.
One to two days cover the town and its floating houses, while the sanctuary needs advance permits and an extra day.
Fly into Bangkok from India and travel about 3.5 hours north by road. A private car is the easiest option.
