Erzincan tour packages are mainly an adventure stop on the upper Euphrates, where the dramatic Karanlık Canyon near Kemaliye (Eğin) is carved into a deep, narrow gorge. Rafting, kayaking and rock climbing are popular, and the old stone town of Kemaliye has wooden houses and a long tradition of silk weaving.Further north, the Girlevik Waterfall tumbles down a green slope near the city. Erzincan lies in a seismic zone, so the main city is modern, rebuilt after the 1939 earthquake. It suits travellers on a loop between Erzurum, Sivas and the Black Sea.
