Konya tour packages visit Turkey’s most spiritual city, where the 13th-century poet and mystic Rumi is buried beneath a turquoise-fluted dome at the Mevlana Museum. Each December, whirling dervish ceremonies mark the anniversary of his death, drawing visitors from across the world. The city was the Seljuk capital, and the Alaeddin Mosque, Karatay Madrasa and İnce Minare preserve that heritage. Outside town, Çatalhöyük, a UNESCO-listed Neolithic settlement, shows one of the first towns in history, and Beyşehir Lake offers calm scenery. Konya is also known for etli ekmek, a meat flatbread.
