The Marble Mountains are five limestone and marble hills south of Da Nang, named after the five elements. Visitors climb stone steps to caves such as Huyen Khong, where sunlight falls on a Buddha statue, and to pagodas and viewpoints over the coast. The nearby village of Non Nuoc sells marble sculptures. Early morning is cooler and quieter. A visit takes about two hours, and sturdy shoes help on steps.
