Tri An Lake is a large reservoir created by a hydropower dam on the Dong Nai River, dotted with small islands and fringed by forest. Visitors take boat trips to see fishing communities, eat fresh lake fish and enjoy sunset views. The area is quiet outside weekends, and some resorts offer kayaking and cycling. It is about two hours north of Ho Chi Minh City, and the dry months from November to April are best.
