October to December and March to April are the most pleasant, with mild temperatures and lower humidity. Summers from June to August are hot and wet, and January can be cold and damp.

Direct flights operate from Delhi and Mumbai to Hanoi on selected carriers, and other cities connect through Bangkok, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. Noi Bai Airport is about 45 minutes from the centre.
