Hue tour packages visit the old imperial capital of Vietnam, a gentle city on the Perfume River with a UNESCO-listed complex of palaces and tombs. The walled Imperial City was home to the Nguyen emperors, Thien Mu Pagoda rises beside the river, and the royal tombs of Tu Duc and Khai Dinh show the grandeur of the dynasty. Hue is also known for refined royal cuisine and traditional music. Nearby are the beach of Lang Co and the hills of Bach Ma National Park. The city is calmer than Da Nang and Hanoi, and two days are ideal.

February to May is the most pleasant, with warm and dry weather. September to November brings heavy rain and flooding.
Two days cover the Imperial City, a river cruise and two or three royal tombs. A third day adds Lang Co or Bach Ma.
Fly to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City or Da Nang, then take a domestic flight, train or private car to Hue. From Da Nang the drive takes about two hours over the Hai Van Pass.
