April to November is pleasant for Ba Be Lake and tea hills, and spring brings fresh tea harvests. Winters are cold and foggy.
One day is enough for the tea hills and Nui Coc Lake. Ba Be needs a further two days.
Ba Be is about five hours by road from Hanoi. Private cars and tour vans are the easiest options.
