Mount Tomorr tour packages appeal to hikers who enjoy mountains with a story. Rising to about 2,416 metres above the Berat region, Tomorr is sacred to the Bektashi community, who gather on its summit for a famous pilgrimage every August. Trails climb through beech and pine forest to alpine meadows and a summit with views across central Albania. The national park around it protects bears, wolves and rare flowers. Most hikers use a local guide and stay in a village guesthouse nearby.
