Vorarlberg tourism covers Austria’s western tip, where Lake Constance meets the high Alps. The state is small yet varied, with a lakeside capital in Bregenz, villages of timber houses in the Bregenzerwald, and legendary ski terrain at Lech and Zürs.Bregenz is famed for its floating stage on the lake and a summer festival of opera, while Feldkirch is a beautifully preserved medieval town. Montafon offers lakes, glaciers and a vintage railway. The region has long been known for modern architecture and cheese-making. Summers are for hiking and swimming, and winters bring dependable snow. Three days suit a short stay.
