Among the best places to visit in East Side Gallery is the longest remaining section of the Berlin Wall, stretching about 1.3 kilometres beside the Spree. More than a hundred murals by artists from many countries were painted here in 1990, including the famous fraternal kiss between two leaders. The wall is open air and free to see, with Oberbaum Bridge and riverside cafés at one end. Early morning is quieter and best for photography.
