Altamont Gardens tour packages suit visitors who enjoy quiet garden walks. The 40-acre garden near Tullow combines formal lawns, an arboretum, a lake and a woodland Ice Age glen, with a collection of rare trees and shrubs grown by the Corona family over decades. It is known for its snowdrops in late winter and for rhododendrons in spring. The garden is run by the Office of Public Works and can be combined with a visit to Kilkenny.
