Inland, the Burren is a pale limestone plateau scattered with rare flowers and ancient tombs, and the little village of Doolin is a hub of traditional music. Bunratty Castle & Folk Park recreates Irish rural life, and Ennis is a lively market town. Boat trips to see the cliffs from the sea and ferries to the Aran Islands leave from Doolin. May to September has the longest days and best chances of clear views from the cliffs. Burren wildflowers bloom in May and June.

Fly to Dublin or Shannon via a European hub; Shannon airport is only 30 minutes from Bunratty. From Dublin the drive to the cliffs takes about three and a half hours.
