Skellig Michael tour packages cover the most remote UNESCO site in Ireland, a steep pyramid of rock about 12 kilometres off the coast. Monks built beehive cells and stone stairways here in the 6th century, and the island featured in recent Star Wars films. Landing is allowed only from May to September, in good weather, with a small number of licensed boats, and the climb of 600 steps is steep. Book months ahead. Boat trips around the island are an alternative.
