Rathcroghan tour packages visit a rich complex of earthworks near Tulsk that, in legend, was the royal seat of the warrior queen Maeve. Over 240 monuments, including mounds, ring forts and standing stones, lie scattered across the landscape, and the Oweynagat cave is called the ‘Cave of the Cats’ and the gateway to the Otherworld in Celtic stories. The visitor centre in Tulsk explains the archaeology and organises guided walks. It is a fascinating place for history lovers.
