Fátima tour packages lead to one of the world’s best-known Catholic shrines, where three shepherd children reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1917. Millions of pilgrims visit the vast sanctuary esplanade, the Chapel of the Apparitions and the large basilica every year, with the biggest crowds on 12 and 13 May and October. Candle processions in the evening are moving. Visitors of all faiths are welcome, and modest dress is expected.
