Khanty-Mansi tour packages explore the oil-rich heart of western Siberia, also called Yugra, a land of taiga, rivers and indigenous Khanty and Mansi culture. Khanty-Mansiysk, the capital, sits on the Irtysh River with a striking biathlon centre and the Archaeopark, a sculpture park of life-sized mammoths. The Torum Maa ethnographic park shows traditional dwellings and customs, and the surrounding forests are good for birdwatching, fishing and winter sports.
