Lucerne tourism is one of the easiest ways to meet Switzerland: a medieval city on a lake, mountain peaks in every direction and trains and boats connecting it all. The wooden Chapel Bridge and its water tower are the city’s emblems, and the Old Town hides painted houses, fountains and quiet squares.Mount Pilatus rises above the city, and the lake’s shore holds villages such as Weggis and Vitznau, with palm-lined promenades. Lucerne is a popular base for trips to Mount Titlis and Mount Rigi. Two nights cover the city and a mountain, and the area is attractive from April to October. Many Indian tour groups include it on their Swiss itineraries.
