London tour packages are the starting point for most Indian visits to the UK, and the capital rewards even a first-time stay of four or five days. Royal sights such as Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London sit alongside free world-class museums, Thames-side walks and the theatres of the West End. Greenwich and Kew Gardens provide green escapes, while Southall and Wembley show the vibrant South Asian side of the city. The Underground, buses and the Elizabeth line make getting around simple, though hotels are expensive, so book early for summer and December.

May to September has the longest days and mildest weather, though July and August are busiest. December is magical for Christmas lights, but cold and dark early.
Four to five days cover the main sights, a museum, a West End show and Greenwich. Add one or two days for Windsor or Oxford.
The Underground, buses, trams and the Elizabeth line use contactless payment with daily fare caps. Walking between central sights is also pleasant.
