May to September has the best chance of dry weather for hiking, castles and beaches. Mountain weather can change quickly even in summer.
Three to four days cover Cardiff and a loop through Snowdonia and Conwy. Add two days for Pembrokeshire.
Fly to London or Birmingham and take a train to Cardiff in about two hours. North Wales is best reached by train from Manchester or Chester.
