The gateway town is Puerto Iguazú, while San Ignacio preserves the red sandstone ruins of a Jesuit mission and Posadas is the riverside capital. The province has red soil, yerba mate plantations and warm weather. The falls are spectacular all year, though March to May and August to October are the most comfortable.

March to May and August to October offer mild temperatures and good water flow. Summers are hot and humid, while the falls can be at their fullest in the wet months.
Two days are enough for the Argentine side of Iguazú Falls. Add a day for the Brazilian side or San Ignacio.
Fly to Buenos Aires via a Gulf or European hub, then take a domestic flight of about 1.75 hours to Puerto Iguazú. Many itineraries also pair the falls with Brazil's Foz do Iguaçu.
