Roraima tourism is aimed at adventure travellers, with the northernmost state of Brazil holding savannah, tabletop mountains and vast indigenous lands. The capital Boa Vista is a planned city on the Branco River, and the border town of Pacaraima links to Venezuela. Mount Roraima and the surrounding highlands, shared with Venezuela and Guyana, are famed as the inspiration for The Lost World. The best months are December to March, in the drier period.

December to March is the drier season, when roads and savannah trails are accessible. From April to August heavy rain is common.
Two days are enough for Boa Vista. Mount Roraima treks take at least six days and need an experienced operator.
Fly to São Paulo or Rio via a Gulf or European hub and take a domestic flight to Boa Vista via Manaus. The trek to Mount Roraima usually starts from Venezuela, so check current travel advice and border rules.
